Hi Navin Seshadri!

You seem like a very well-prepared student!

I think of the distinction between CarND and RoboND as a version of the flexibility-usability tradeoff.

Both programs cover similar topics, but CarND is entirely focused on autonomous vehicles, which makes it stronger in that area, but less flexible. RoboND is more flexible across different areas of robotics, but less strong in any one application. One big difference is that RoboND will be dealing with ROS extensively, whereas CarND only hits ROS at the very end of the program.

Employers so far seem very excited about CarND students. There is a huge demand for engineering talent in the autonomous vehicle world.
